House Hike/Walk

Objectives
  • Get people outdoors
  • See more of Acadia National Park
  • Build Community
  • Release endorphin
  • Hang out casually
Summary
Hikes and walks are a great way to get residents out of the house, into fresh air and see more of the park. It's also a great way to get some exercise in and force residents to put away their phones, tablets and laptops. Ah, there's nothing like nature and conversation.


Instructions
Space
Acadia National Park! The Outdoors!
Supplies
  • Good walking shoes/sneakers
  • Van/Transport
  • Snacks
  • Water Bottles
  • Park pass depending on the time of year
Funding
Can be community, Student Life for transport or personally.
Step by Step
  1. Find a place/trail
  2. Set a date
  3. Solidify transport and interest
  4. Pack snacks and bottles
  5. Check weather
  6. Dress appropriately
  7. Fly my pretties fly!
Results
Residents bond together over accomplishing a climb or completing a trail. Endorhpins are great for all around happier residents. Familiarizing residents with the park and process of entry. Quality time with residents savoring the beauty of Acadia. Oh and buff legs.
