Summary
This ice breaker allowed people to get to know each other without sitting in an awkward circle. It was implemented during Week One of Fall Term and was a lot of fun.
Instructions
Space
Outside is best, ideally where there is mainly grass because of the running involved.
Supplies
Supplies
- Tonnes of water balloons
- A few water guns
Funding
Fund this however you need. It only cost $10 for 500 water balloons.
Step by Step
- Buy supplies (Amazon sells cheap water balloons in bulk)
- Gather boxes/buckets
- Fill water balloons and store in boxes/buckets. (Chem Lab has tapered faucets)
- Move all supplies to chosen grass area
- Split up into two teams and make sure to explain not to throw balloons in people's faces
- Begin the WAR!
Results
This was a great bonding activity. It helped break the ice because it was during week one. People got a chance to be silly and get to know each other in a fun way - sometimes sitting around and asking "ice breaker" questions can be too formal and awkward.
